February Halfterm

This week has been half term, so we escaped for a few days at Center Parcs in The Lake district.

The weather was cold and crisp so we kept busy! We cycled every day...boy did my muscles complain!! Then there was swimming, badminton, horse riding, squash, ten pin bowling, tree trekking, archery, pool, playing cards and lots of eating!!

Our two youngest children each took a friend and our eldest popped over on her day off.

I saw lots of wild life, red squirrels, rabbits, pheasants, blue tits, deer, moorhens, ducks.

I enjoyed a lovely morning walk as the sun peeped through the trees and frost sparkled.

It was a great way to recharge and we were all sorry to come home!

February already!

Wow! How can it be Februaury already!
We had a difficult start to the year...what with the cold, snowy weather, work trips to far flung places keeping hubby away from home and then a very nasty bug ('flu?) wiping him out for over a week.

Last weekend though, we managed to escape together for a lovely walk and a bit of retail therapy too!

A new year and a new me! I am working hard now to complete level one of my course and looking to the future in many ways. It can be tricky balancing looking forward whilst trying to live in the moment!
With the children all embracing their futures we are begining to imagine what our future might look like and dream a little. We have never really done planning...nor do I think we ever really will! But we have started to float some ideas around for the universe to ponder...

Comfort and warmth.

Well it looks like the Indian summer has come to an end, so roll out the cupcakes for comfort and the fire for warmth!
I have a feeling that I am running just to stand still at the moment, but I am sure things will fall into place soon!

Indian summer
It's hard to believe that we were warming ourselves by the fire at the weekend as we seem to be having an indian summer today! Not that I am complaining, I have caught up on some of the back log of washing and it is drying beautifully in the garden.

Autumn

This summer has been interesting and surprisingly laid back. The family are all finding their way nicely now, so it is time to start thinking about focusing on myself again. I am looking forward to a study day and tutorial next week, with all the challenges of preparing for, getting to and doing!
Reflecting on my journey so far, I wonder where the road will take me next?
I was so sure when I was 18 that I knew what I wanted and how to get it, rare at that age. Now I feel like I maybe should have done back then, unsure of what I want and where I am heading, but I am trying to go with the flow!

Knitting

I have really enjoyed getting back to knitting recently, very therapeutic.
